About us
The Southern Mini Owners Club was formed in the summer of 1986, at a time when Madonna was top of the charts and Mini clubs were as rare as 1071cc Coopers. With little competition, the Southern Mini Owners Club grew from strength to strength and spread its wings to gather members from Kent, Essex, Sussex and even from across the channel.
Twenty + years on, the club is still just as active with regular social meetings. Its success can be attributed to a motto Sir Alec Issigonis would have been proud of: "To dare to be different." This motto is not only reflected in the variety of weird and wonderful Minis that the members own, including 4WD, shortened, tall and lowered, but also in the creative ability of the members.
