Members' Cars
The members of SMOC have Minis and MINIs of all types and colours. Here is a selection that members would like to share with you:

Jason Dilling's Mini Cooper
Jason's British Racing Green Mini Cooper Sportpack worked hard as an everyday runner for its first five years. It recently had a new front end and floor to bring the bodywork to as new condition. The Mini now lives a slightly easier life, being garaged and travellng less than 3000 miles a year. It is pictured here at Mini Days 2011.
Gary's Mini Countryman Cooper D
This is Gary's Mini Countryman Cooper D (yes its not a Mini). Delivered 24th March 2011. As it's a white car, it tends to get tar splats up the sides. This was cured with easy fit Romanian mudflaps. Also fitted was a shorter aerial so Gary could get the enormous car in his car port.

Jon's Austin Mini
Bought as 'shed with an MoT' in 2005, Jon's intention was to keep this Mk3 Mini 1000 in fairly standard original order as a rolling project that was cost effective to keep as a second car. After attending the usual Mini shows it didn't take much persuasion to start turning it into a bit of a 'retro racer'. A tuned-up 1000cc engine, Cooper S brakes, vinyl bucket seats and a roll cage later, and this is it - the affectionately (?) named 'Shed' (parked on Jon's own square yard of banked circuit at Brooklands Museum).

John's MINI Clubman Cooper S
John Nash has a rather rare MINI Clubman Cooper S *Auto*. Here he is at Blenheim Palace Mini and VW show in September 2011.

Rob Pavey's Mini Cooper
Created from a 2000 Rover Mini Cooper MPi I have created a Retro Mk1. Preferring the looks of the early MK1 I set about a full refurbishment of the body including welding up all the surplus holes from the wheel arches, side repeaters, wipers, spot lamps etc. To allow for the fitment of 10" wheels I have fitted Cooper S discs and callipers. With central instruments replacing the more modern three clock binnacle and a period type interior it feels like you have gone back in time when you drive it but hopefully with better reliability! The engine remains standard but may be the next area for some attention. I have always fancied a KAD 16v....watch this space.

John Nash' Shorty
Here is John's unique Shorty built in 1995 from a standard Austin Mini 998 that came off the production line in 1983. The car has now spent longer as a Shorty than it did in it's original form!
It is still looking tidy after a good few years of trips abroad, Mini shows and laps of Castle Combe.
Now fitted with disc brakes after some scary moments but still running on the original engine, that has proved very reliable.

Gordon's bespoke Mini
It's been years in the building, but Gordon's white bespoke Mini from ML Motorsport is now on the road. It's lovely!

Gary Pearson's MINI Clubman
Gary Pearson's Hot Chocolate Clubman is seen at long distance Mini Events, often with the Club & Membership Secretaries inside.

Les & Dianne Venner's Mini Cooper
This is our beloved Cooper , 1992. i bought this car two years ago after reluctantly selling my Lambretta scooter - as i was a born again mod.
I needed to get out of the weather and buying the mini was a good option of still making heads turn when we go out on runs.
I had a mk 2 cooper in the early seventies. If I knew then what I know now I would have kept it.
We paid £1900 for our mini. It was in a good and original condition, not messed with. We try to keep it that way, and use it regularly (not kept in bubble wrap). Since joining SMOC we have made fantastic friends, and join in the many activities, visiting Belgium twice a year.
Regards Les / Dianne Venner.

Jason Dilling's Clubman
As you can see, Jason's Mini Clubman needed quite a bit of body work to bring it back to its former glory. It looks a whole lot better than this now... And is more likely than ever to be completed this year...
